Can i use this tool for VB.Net

I want some information regarding this tool ?

1. Can we use this tool for VB.Net ?

2. How much percent acccurate it is ?

1. It is able to create VB.NET mappings. Simply click the "Preferences" tab on top and select "VB" as your language.

2. Depends on which database you are using. I believe the SQL Server mapping are more accurate. It also depends on how complex your data model is.

Well the code generate for VB is just wrong.

  • First Option Strict Off and Option Explicit On need to be on top of the Classes.
  • in VB we use Imports instead of using statement. Also you guys need to remove the ';' at the end of the lines
  • Property definition are wrong:

The VB equivalent to: public virtual int ActivityID { get; set; } is:  Public Overridable Property ActivityID() As Integer
and not:

   Public Overridable Property ActivityID() As Integer
            End Get
            End Set
        End Property

  • The equivalent for: IList<Activity> in VB is IList(Of Activity)


So in the meantime i think the best solution would be to generate your classes in C# and zip the classes then translate it using which will do a better job.

Sql server and sybase databases will now correctly generate vb code.
